Digital map of student protests

The 'Digital Map of Student Protests' is a geographical representation of the diverse forms of action taken by the student movement during the 1974–1990 period. Specifically, it includes various student mobilizations, such as marches to the Ministry of Education, marches commemorating the Polytechnic uprising, rallies, protests, boycotts, demonstrations, and school occupations. For each pin on the map, there is a brief reference to the students' respective demands. The map spans from 1974 to 1991, ensuring that the major wave of occupations and dynamic mobilizations at the turn of the decade is not omitted. t is worth noting that during the 1990–1991 school year, 30% of the country's junior high and high schools were under occupation. Due to successive mergers and name changes, it was not always possible to accurately locate certain school units. The mobilizations are mapped based on the names and locations of the school units, as well as by calendar year. This map is an enriched data processing and information visualization based on Dimitris Sklavenitis’ book, 'Katse kala Gerasime...'. Mathitiko Kinima kai katalipseis 1974-2000, Athens, Asini, 2016.
